We support educational initiatives of Ohio charitable organizations to enrich lives through learning opportunities.
About Us
The Chaffee Family Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) private foundation. The Foundation seeks to support charities with a focus on educational organizations that provide programs and initiatives to learn and grow. We provide support exclusively in Ohio and use the concept of teaching people to fish as a guiding principle in choosing the initiatives we support. Determination of funding occurs annually in June.

- Does The Chaffee Family Foundation support non-Ohio initiatives?
- The Foundation only supports Ohio organizations and their learning opportunity initiatives within the state of Ohio. Organizations and projects outside of Ohio are not eligible to apply.
- Does The Chaffee Family Foundation accept applications to support individuals who are not affiliated with an organization?
- The Foundation does not accept requests from individuals who are not affiliated with an organization. Applicants must be organizations with a 501(c)(3) United States status or be an educational entity that is exempt from federal income tax and eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions. Proof of that status is required with each application.

2021 Grants
- Elementary school reading program to teach and foster the love of reading to early readers.
- Elementary school music program with xylophones to foster the love of music.
- Science Center STEM workshops and community outreach to families who would not be able to participate in these activities without this support.
- High School college awareness materials and a program so students and their families who do not typically have exposure are aware of the opportunity of secondary education.
- High School innovation lab equipment where students use technology and creativity to create engraved, sewn, and 3-D printed items to use or gift to others.
